Getting Started
Do I have to pay to enter?
No! Entry is completely free. Free accounts receive 10 entries per month at no cost. You can also enter without creating an account using our AMOE (Alternate Method of Entry) form. Paid memberships are optional and provide additional perks, but do NOT improve your odds of winning.
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign Up" in the navigation menu and provide your email and password. It takes less than 2 minutes. After signing up, you'll complete a quick profile to tell us your hunting and fishing preferences so we can recommend relevant trips.
Is this legal?
Yes! Hunt Sweepstakes is structured as a legal sweepstakes with No Purchase Necessary. We provide free entry methods (AMOE) and comply with federal and state regulations. All entrants have equal odds of winning regardless of whether they pay for a membership.
How Sweepstakes Work
How are winners selected?
Winners are selected using a cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.randomInt). Each entry has an equal chance of winning. We maintain complete audit logs for transparency, including timestamp, total entries, and the random selection method used.
What are my odds of winning?
Odds depend on the total number of eligible entries for each specific trip. For example, if 500 people enter a trip, your odds are 1 in 500. We display the current entry count for each trip so you can see your odds.
Can I enter multiple trips?
Yes! You can enter up to 10 trips per month with a free account. Each trip allows maximum 1 entry per person. Paid memberships do not change the per-trip limit - everyone gets max 1 entry per trip.
When do drawings happen?
Each trip has a specific draw date listed on the trip page. Drawings happen automatically on the scheduled date. Winners are notified by email within 48 hours.
Prizes & Trips
What's included in the prize?
Each trip includes the items listed in the trip description, typically: professional guide service, lodging, meals, field dressing/fish cleaning, and trophy photos. Each trip page lists exactly what is included.
What's NOT included?
Winners are responsible for: hunting/fishing licenses and tags (required by law), travel to/from the designated meeting point (unless specified), gratuities, personal equipment and gear (unless specified), and travel insurance.
Do I have to pay taxes on the prize?
Yes. Winners are responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on the prize value. For prizes valued at $600 or more, we will issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC and you will need to provide a completed W-9 form. We recommend consulting a tax advisor.
Can I choose my trip dates?
Yes, within the available season and subject to outfitter availability. After winning, you will coordinate directly with the outfitter to schedule dates that work for you.
Can I transfer my prize to someone else?
No. Prizes are non-transferable. The winner must be the person who goes on the trip.
Fairness & Compliance
How do you ensure fairness?
We enforce strict entry caps (max 1 entry per trip per person, max 10 trips per month), use cryptographically secure random selection with audit logs, display all winners publicly, and ensure free entrants have the same odds as paid members.
Does paying for membership improve my odds?
No. Everyone gets the same entry limits (10/month, 1 per trip) regardless of membership status. Paid memberships provide convenience features (1-click entry, auto-entry, saved profiles) and exclusive perks (content, tools, discounts) but do NOT give you more entries or better odds.
What is AMOE?
AMOE stands for Alternate Method of Entry. It's a free way to enter without creating an account or paying anything. AMOE entrants have the exact same odds of winning as paid members. Visit /amoe to enter for free.
Are you available in my state?
We comply with state sweepstakes regulations. Some states may be excluded based on local laws. Check the Official Rules for current state eligibility or contact support if you have questions.
Account & Membership
What do tokens/entries mean?
Tokens represent your ability to enter trips. Free accounts get 10 tokens per month. You use 1 token to enter 1 trip. Tokens reset monthly and do not roll over.
What are the membership tiers?
Free (10 entries/month - manual entry), Base ($19.99/month - 10 entries + 1-click entry + auto-entry), Elite ($39.99/month - 10 entries + Base perks + premium content + early access), Platinum ($79.99/month - 10 entries + Elite perks + VIP support + concierge), and Lifetime ($999.99 one-time - Platinum perks forever). All tiers have the same entry limits.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes! You can cancel anytime through your account dashboard. No questions asked, no cancellation fees. You will retain access through the end of your current billing period.
Do unused entries roll over?
No. Entries reset each month. This keeps the system fair for all participants.
After Winning
How will I know if I win?
We will notify you by email within 48 hours of the drawing. You will also see a notification in your account dashboard.
How long do I have to accept?
Winners must respond and accept within 72 hours or we may select an alternate winner.
What if I decline or miss the notification?
If you decline or don't respond within 72 hours, we will select an alternate winner from the same drawing. The prize will not be re-awarded to you.
What happens after I accept?
You will complete eligibility verification (ID, W-9 form if applicable), then coordinate trip details directly with the outfitter. You are responsible for obtaining required hunting/fishing licenses and tags.
Technical Issues
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click "Sign In" and then "Forgot Password" to receive a password reset link by email.
I'm not receiving emails.
Check your spam folder. Add noreply@huntsweepstakes.com to your contacts. If you still have issues, contact support.
How do I update my preferences?
Sign in and go to your Dashboard, then click "Profile" or "Settings" to update your hunting and fishing preferences.
